University Professor Information

Business:

Kareem C Dana

He's the best in the game in all of West Texas. I'm surprised by how much I'm learning with ease with his help. Such an insightful, wise man, and he's so handsome too. If I could, I would take every class with Kareem Dana!

As a former computer scientist, there is no other professor in WT who can teach you how to code any better than Mr. Dana

Mr. Dana is a great teacher and easy on the eyes, too!!

Rahul Chauhan

Excellent professor that makes you learn and live the topic rather than just reading. Very helpful and cooperative. Highly recommended.
Great professor, if you do all you quizzes exam will be easy, he tries to make the material easy to understand, and will only teach you what is necessary in the real world.
Good class, learned a lot, but class was not unreasonably hard at least not compared to other classes.

Alison Berry

Good professor. The class is very interesting and she's very nice, she makes you feel open to ask questions and interact with the class. Papers are 2000 words but eh it's okay. Overall would take again

Dr. Berry is a very creative in her teaching skills, and communication is very clear when speaking with the students. I as a student understand clearly and anytime I have a question Dr. Berry never hesitates to answer and help me better understand.

Great professor that gives good projects. Makes students interact with each other which is usually fun. She explains in very good detail and gives you opportunities for extra credit.

Engineering:

Matt Jackson

Dr. Jackson's Mechanics of Materials class is pretty rough. He does a pretty good job of explaining things, but he can be vague sometimes during examples. Make sure you study well for his tests, they are intense. All in all, interesting class, great guy, good teacher.

Very knowledgeable and you are either going to learn engineering or quit and join the band.

Tough but very fair. You are going to learn Engineering. if you cant hang then join the band.

Emily Hunt

Great class, flexible on homework. Did some group projects that were fun. Puts meeting in front of teaching therefore no homework on those days.

Take her class
i took her for my college algebra class. fun, great, and very easy teacher. if she is teaching any class that you want or need, make sure you sign up for her class. i suck and hate math, and i got an "A" in her class.

Roy Issa

Great professor. Super Smart. Very hard but very fair. Heat transfer is his baby

Awesome instructor. very helpful insde and outside the class room. best instructor ever in WT. teaches very well.if u really want to learn the material, pick him.he is smart.u enjoy his lectures.he jokes with his students n in somehow he is serious too.study well.

Tough classes and hard professor, but is do-able. Not too much homework, but very difficult tests. He teaches all the thermo and heat transfer stuff. For heat transfer, there will be A LOT of labs reports to write. Thermodynamics and thermal fluid design are challenging but not so bad. Pretty boring lectures unfortunately.

Biology:

Richard Kazmaier

Dr. Kazmaier is one of the most intelligent people I have ever met. Have a question about any living thing? He can probably answer it for you. You will have to work for your grade, but you will not walk away without learning.

Great professor, explains things well and multiple times so if you attend class and pay attention it is simple to learn the material. Can get dull sometimes, but if you put in effort and go to class you'll pass. Doesn't use a powerpoint to lecture

Best teacher ever. Hes so busy and teaches so many classes but still makes sure he has everything ready for next class. Hes late giving back tests sometimes, but you can always go in and ask for your grade. Literally the smartest teacher Ive ever had. Knows everything about everything. Incredibly nice and so so helpful. Will NEVER leave you hanging

Rocky Ward

Dr. Ward is the sweetest! So helpful and caring, he wants the best for his students. Only had 3 exams, which are difficult if you don't read, study or attend the review sessions provided by SI. Gives pop quizzes that are easy 100's. Easy A-B if you study and attend review. Great professor!

Dr. Ward is interesting, funny, and a great professor. He seems genuinely interested in making sure his students understand the material.

Great teacher! Very easy-going and funny. Lectures not mandatory, some classes are just spent watching videos. All power points are online. Occasional quizzes (easy, often open-book). Tests are easy with some studying. Honors section is easy as well. Definitely reccommen

Carolyn Bouma

She's super smart and definitely lets you know that she's smarter than you. She is incredibly rude and even insults you with a smile. The class is very fast paced and you have to be able to keep up and always go to class. On a brighter note, I learned so many things in this class and the lab exercises are pretty cool.

EXTREMELY lively and energetic. I found myself forgetting to breathe when she is really getting into lecture since she talks so fast and moves around so much and so quickly. She obviously likes the subjects she teaches. Her assignments and tests will make you think but she is not out to fail anyone and they are never overly difficult.

Very helpful class, it's fast paced but you will learn a lot. Lab assistance is a must. Complete the objectives and you'll be good for tests. Very interested in students, very open to help outside class, give review sessions, etc. Very straight forward, likes smart questions hates lazy students. She will help you if you help yourself.

Academics:

Professors are helpful to students. There is also a variety of professors teaching subjects so you can find a professor who fits the teaching style you like the most. Registration is simple and the workload depends on how much you want to bring upon yourself. There is tutoring offered and most professors hold study sessions.

College Sophomore Jul 9 2014

Every class I have been involved in has been a great experience. The professors are down to earth and eager to help the students.

College Senior May 7 2014

For such a great price you get such an amazing and rewarding education! WT is, handsdown, the greatest school to get THE BEST education!

College Freshman Apr 9 2014

Core classes are just that: core classes, basics that you have to get out of the way. It's a pain. But the classes that are specifically designed for your field are great!

College Junior Mar 3 2014

The academics at this school are awesome--by far the best college I've been to. All if the teachers really care about your success and about your learning. They gave a great education program.

College Sophomore Dec 4 2013

My major is Biochemistry. With this degree, my workload is very heavy and the curriculum is very hard. However, the science department is very willing to help students out.

College Sophomore Dec 4 2013

This university has great professors and great resources to learn and to grow as a student. The university inspires creative ideas and is a great place to pursue a career.

Campus Quality:

College Senior Aug 12 2014

The school always has something happening, so there are plenty of opportunities to meet fellow mates.

College Junior May 24 2014

The university is superb at allowing the student to make the most of their college experience through the integrated learning throughout the campus.

College Freshman Nov 22 2013

It is a beautiful school and our sports teams are some of the best around. The campus is very homey and everyone seems to love it here.

College Freshman Nov 13 2013

West Texas A&M is a beautiful campus, I feel very welcome here. Everyone you meet is very nice and outgoing. The college life here is a unique experience. I love this college.

College Sophomore Jun 25 2013

My school is large enough to find you dream degree and broaden you're horizons in the future outside of college, yet it is small enough to have a personal in class experience.

College Senior May 30 2013

WTAMU has an extremely beautiful campus with a TON of facilities to house all kinds of activities. Campus life is an absolute blast because there is always something going on!

Diversity:

College Sophomore Jan 8 2016

Regardless of who you are or what you are, the school is very accepting and tolerant of anybody. And there is always a group you can find to make you feel comfortable.

College Senior May 7 2014

Students are actually pretty accepting of one another! Most students get to know a student for who they are and accept them based off of the content of their character and not their individual beliefs! Now this is not always the case, but it usually isn't a problem!

College Freshman Apr 9 2014

From what I've seen within my own department, diversity in terms of race, gender, and sexuality are embraced.

College Freshman Nov 22 2013

Most everyone is accepting, but there are always those who don't accept anyone different than them. It is to be expected. The campus is very culturally diverse, but everyone seems to get along fairly well.

College Sophomore Oct 9 2013

There is a lot of diversity here at WTAMU. I always see people of different races hanging out with eachother. There really is no racial tension here on campus from what I have experienced.

College Sophomore Aug 8 2013
There are many different races. Opportunities are equal for everyone and the campus has a strong stand against racial discrimination.

Guys & Girls:

College Sophomore May 3 2015

The guys are such gentlemen! They open doors for you and are cute.

College Junior Oct 29 2014

Everybody on camous has their own personality which makes it easy for everybody to find groups and people to get along with. Most pepole I have talked to at school loves there college experience because of all the things to get involved in like fraternities, groups, and sporting events.

College Sophomore Jul 9 2014

I love the people on campus. I have made so many good friends from one year and can't wait to make more.

College Junior May 24 2014
For a girl looking for a man in jeans, cowboy boots, and a cowboy hat..you may in luck! But it's not always about the looks. You'll find many people here on campus have very warming and exciting personalities.

College Freshman Nov 13 2013

The guys and girls on campus are average. Some are friendly, some just have to get to know you before they strike up a conversation. There are the more outgoing guys and girls who get the attention but overall everyone is welcoming and friendly. Besides, this is probably where everyone will meet their soul mate.

College Sophomore Oct 21 2013

The guys and girls are all friendly and outgoing. The social life on campus has high participation
